Thank you for taking time to visit our website. It is our goal to raise awareness about sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait. We also want to provide you with the most current and useful information available about sickle cell disease. The Sickle cell Foundation, Incorporated is the only specialty care organization providing services to people with sickle cell disease/trait within a 150 mile radius. There are 16 local chapters within the state of Florida. We provide services in six (6) counties which include: Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson, Wakulla, Madison and Taylor Counties. Established in February 1980, our program is twofold: 1-Community Awareness and 2-Direct Assistance. Under the umbrella of community awareness our goal is to identify and educate our communities about the importance of knowing whether or not a potential parent has sickle cell trait. Direct Assistance deals specifically with persons who have been diagnosed with one of the sickle cell diseases. Direct Services are designed to provide immediate relief to a particular crisis or emergency.

We are a non profit 501(c) 3 that strives to provide comprehensive health education, counseling, testing services while striving to improve the quality of life for our clients and their families. It is with the assistance of our collaborative partners, we have thus far been able to positively impact those persons living with sickle cell disease, while increasing knowledge to those who may not be informed about the disease.
